WD1003FZEX or WD1002FAEX

Hey!

I am new to the "computer world". I would like get some advice for which hard drive I should buy.

You will not really notice any performance difference between these two. They have same RPM, cache and capacity.
WD1003FZEX is a newer model. It seems that it is cheaper as well. So, my advice would be to get that one.

Most probably neither. For nearly all users i only recommend blacks if you havent compromised on anything else on your system.

Do you have an SSD? What i recommend for most users :

C: 250gb Samsung 850 evo (operating system & programs)
D: 1TB WD blue or 2TB (or higher) seagate barracuda (for media storage)

Robiow, the reason i dont generally recommend them is becasue HDDs are incredibly slow vs SSDs. Ideally you only want HDDs for media storage (movies, music, photos etc)

SSDs are where performance is at.

WD blacks are great drives. Reliable and fast (for a HDD). the prob is they come at a price. Priority in $ should be given to the SSD - either by getting more of them or upping the size.

The only HDDs i use are blacks, however i find it very hard to recommend them. Unless you havent compromised on any other parts of your system.

I'm building a gaming computer. That's why I need a good hard drive, and WD Black was recommended.

I'll also buy a 250GB SSD (Do you recommend the Samsung 850 Evo?).

Yep, the Samsung 850 evo.

Again i just want to say - i ONLY use WD blacks for HDDs, but ive spent a crap load on my system. If youre compromising on say your GPU, CPU or monitor etc. Then youre better off getting a WD blue and putting the savings toward the other gear.

yes, as i said.
if youre getting a 980ti , a 32" 1440p moitor on a 6 series I5 or i7 with multiple SSDs etc AND youve got $ left over, get the blacks.
