I'm building my son's first gaming computer for Chrismas, he's younger and doesn't play higher end shooter games yet though. I'm scavanging some parts from a few Dell business computers I have like Ram, a i5-7500 and a 256GB SSD I will install Windows on but I wanted more storage as it will also be our media center PC.
I have this older WD 1TB Sata / 64mb cache 3.5" hard drive, it was in an enclosure and used lightly. Date code is 27APR2014.
My question is will this slow any gaming down or should i drop the $100 and get another SSD for storage?

Try it see what you think.

Sure a ssd will load stuff faster......do you need that speed?
