This is a hard drive from an old computer that I salvaged. It is a WD1600 160GB as it says in the title.

I was wondering if this was compatible with a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 Motherboard.

Hi jasiel21,

This WD drive should be compatible with your MOBO is it hat 1 IDE port, as the guys have already mentioned.
As this is HDD is an old one, it may be a good idea to test it with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool(both short and extended tests). The results should provide a S.M.A.R.T. report as well as an overall health status of the drive.

A WD160BB or WD160JB would be IDE drives a SATA part number would be like WD1600AAKX. So I'm guessing it would be like the top photo boost post. The Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 has 1 IDE channel and 6 SATA 2 ports so it should support that drive in either case.
