Hello,
My WD2oears fell from a height of about four feet. Now when it is plugged in it makes a scratchy noise and will not boot up. It appears the stylus pins have been bent. Can they be repaired and the information stored on the drive be recovered.

There are professionals that can recover the data as long as the platters have not been damaged. but I don't know about repairing them. Just from a logical standpoint, though, everything in there is based on pretty precise measurements so I don't imagine repairing them is an in-home job.

I have never used a data recovery service so I can't recommend one.

That's a scary moment when those drives fall like that. It's like life flashes before your eyes.
