WD50000LPVX internal Hard Drive

Hi,

I am having dell inspiron 1545 laptop. Its internal hard drive got currupted so I purchased new WD5000LPVX internal hard drive. But when i installed it its giving me No Hard drive found error. What could be the solution ?

Has it been initialiazed? Formated as a boot disk?

I bet its saying "no BOOT drive found" which is normal for a blank hard drive. You need to put the restore dvd in the optical drive and then power off and back on, press the key to boot up off the cd/dvd drive and then run the restore process.
