We are all victims of Nvidia missteps

Certainly a part of Half Life's delay is due to having to spend 5X time coding for Nvidia- and don't think the extra costs Valve is incurring won't be passed on the the buyers- they can't sell it without adequately recovering their costs! So for ALL gamers, Half Life II comes later, and at greater expense to all buyers. Valve is being hosed too- they were planning on cash flow by now!

All NVIDIA Geforce customers will be P'O'd severely.

All future game releases will be delayed so that software developers can spend an extra 5X time coding for Nvidia.

Delayed software sales also equals delayed hardware purchases, so Nvidia's behaviour reverbrates through the entire industry.

But, Preach-on for I believe!

I said pretty much exactly what you said when we first discussed the shader conf. results.

As an ATI hardware owner I don't benifit from this extra time and money. They should include a $5 rebate for all ATI card owners for our patience.

But I'm sure the 'cheque's in the mail.'

Here's to hoping that it's a good game regardless of the wait. Looks like it will be, but we won't know for sure until it's in our hands/rigs.
