Webcam buggy, but running strong without it. Should I switch processors, ram or the GPU?

So I have been recording minecraft in Xsplit and it has been working fine. When I put the Webcam in it starts to lag and had latency. I was wondering what it could be.

Do you guys what me to give you a full list of parts?

Here is three basic things:
Intel Core i5
16 GBs of ram.
Quadro K420(I know this is lame, don't flame me... I need better GPU...🙁 ...)

Are you using a laptop? Find out your actual cpu, the i5 has been around for like 7-8 years now and there are many generations of it and they are not equal at all.

What kind of webcam is it, what software are you using for it?

I use a DIY computer that I built at home.

I have this list of parts:
Intel i5 6600k 4 core processor from this year. (unlocked) Socket is the LGA 1151
16 GBs of ram with 2400mhz (dual channel).
NVidia Quadro K420 1 GB GPU running 1920x1080p.
750 Watt power supply (Bronze)
11 Fans
Two WD Blue Spin Drives, One at 1 TB and 4 TB (OS is on the 1 TB drive)
MSI M5 Gaming Motherboard.
Razer Deathadder Chroma and Razer Blackwindow Chroma
Windows 10
Blue Yeti Blackout USB

The software I use is Xsplit Premium Game caster.
My webcam is the Logitech C920 Pro webcam.

I have a budget on things:

First the CPU which I would like to get an i7. Around $350.
Graphics card. Around $250
And a webcam around $150

It may not be one of the problems above but I gave you the info.

I don't understand your first sentence, do I need to run a different program to record my face?

Your webcam is fine, unless you're a camgirl don't bother upgrading it now. It's fine for corner of the screen commentary.

You don't need an i7 for minecraft and recording. (The Division and recording yeah sure)

A graphics card would help a lot though.

You can use it to manually assign CPU core usage to minecraft and your recording software so they don't use the same CPU cores and this will better divide the load.

Also test a solo recording of your camera to see if it still is laggy.

It looks like the c920 will always have a delay on it when recording/streaming though:

Minecraft (and other software) won't show up unless it's running, it would be there though under minecraft.exe

There are other graphics cards that work, any other 960 or 970 would, but those are good matches for your GPU, I chose them because MSI makes the best of air coolers for the two cards. Only other concern would be the maximum GPU length supported by your case, look it up on the cases product page on the manufacturer's website

The delay seems to be inherent with the webcam, short of upgrading to a much more professional one, or getting an actual camcorder, as a lot of professional youtubers actually use I believe.

Things you can try:
Remove the drivers for the logitech webcam, and use the default microsoft ones.
Turn off any "auto focus/correction" settings for the webcam.

Your cores should be fine, Minecraft isn't that intensive, and your CPU is really powerful.
It could be an xsplit delay, you might want to ask on the xsplit forums about that.
If these are ONLY recorded videos, you could try recording the video and audio separately, and then edit them back together properly in a video editing program, most professional gamers/youtubers do something like this.

Only time you'd need them to all be together at the same time would be for a stream.

Did you try using ProcessLasso like I suggested to give the game and software different CPU cores to use?

The GPU is good and a good match for your CPU. If you used Nvidia's ShadowPlay feature to record gameplay it would take the load off your CPU though as well.

Process Lasso is pretty easy, as you only need to do one thing to adjust your usage.
You'll see a big list of processes, find the ones for Minecraft.exe, Xsplit.exe and Audacity.exe
Right click on them and choose CPU Affinity > Always > Select CPU Affinity.
In the window that pops up, uncheck the cores so each program is not overlapping with another.
i.e. Minecraft only uses Core 0 (the first core) Xsplit only uses Core 1 and 2 and Audacity uses Core 3.

Minecraft should give you an error message when it crashes, that would tell you what it's having a problem with, if it doesn't you'd want to look in Event Viewer (look it up with search) and check under the Windows Logs and look in the Application and System ones to see where it's reporting minecraft.exe crashing and it will list a Faulting Module in there that will tell you what is breaking, and then you can google to see why that module/dll is crashing.

Your Xsplit recording settings may be too high as well.

I did process lasso and it did not effect it at all, it made it worse! This has to be a GPU and Software problem. I will use NVidia Shadow Play if I get a card.
I did not have any lag but it was wrong. I really think that it is a CPU problem.

Turn off Processlasso, Minecraft should use barely any CPU power, unless you've got a ton of redstone going on in your server or something.
And Minecraft and OBS should easily be able to share recording resources.
The webcam shouldn't be causing any problems either... my HD Pro C920 doesn't seem to lag out...
