Webcam built-in to monitor, works well, only connected to computer with HDMI cable, no USB connect cable. Is it using WiFi?

My monitor has a built-in camera and is connected to my computer by the HDMI cable only. The monitor has always worked great and the webcam works well, good sharp picture somewhat magnified, used in group Skype call, but came without a USB cable connection. Is it connecting through the HDMI or is it connecting by WiFi to my D-Link Wireless N300 PCI Express Desktop Adapter or through my D-Link DIR 885L wireless router? Many thanks for your hardware expertise. Jim
