Hello,
I recently updated my OS to Windows 8 on my hp g6 1315-tu notebook. The webcam doesn't work anymore. The drivers don't seem to b e available on the hp site and nor is the webcam listed in the device manager(there are no imaging devices at all). How do I fix this?

Did you check in Device Manager if the Webcam is getting detected as Imaging Device? If its not getting detected in Device Manager try restoring BIOS to defaults.

To restore BIOS to defaults,go to BIOS screen, tap F2 on start up,on BIOS screen press F9 to restore BIOS to defaults and than press F10 to save and exit. After the system reboots check if the Webcam gets detected.

If they dont have a Driver for Windows 8 yet, then you go to wait.

I still remember , I got a stable synaptic touch pad driver after a month of Installing windows 8.

A software which works in Windows xp, may work in Windows vista, 7 or 8. But a driver is always tailor made for the operating system

So , dont try to install wrong drivers and end up in BSOD
