Question Webcam Not Working?

I have an Asus C202SA Chromebook where I swapped out the camera unit. With new camera, laptop said "Camera not found." I changed the cable because it looked like it was pinched and got the same message. I put the old camera back and it still said "Camera not found." I changed the motherboard and the message came up again. I have no idea what happened or how to fix it.

Why did you swap out the camera? If it was faulty and you were within warranty period, you should've sent it for RMA. If the webcam was functional then I'm guessing that the right part wasn't installed. The ribbon cable used on laptop are also delicate so if you've bent them in the wrong direction or order, then you're also going to have to replace the cable.

The Chromebook was 3 years old so I couldn't return it. The webcam was giving out a blurry picture and a distorted microphone sound. The cable was replaced.
