Webcam software for security

Hello,
looking at forum and have only found older posts on security software for use with webcams. I am using ispy now, but has a few bugs. Any recommendations, paid or free versions.

You can use iWatchLife for free. iWatchLife has a better version of motion detection that isn't triggered by moving shadows and lets you focus what they call smart event detection anywhere in the view by drawing shapes.

it has Android and iOS apps as well.

Thanks, but it seems that I have no resident control over the video. I want to record on my own computer and not upload to anywhere.
