Webcams

I know absolutely nothing about webcams. I've never really been interested in them. I don't want somebody watching me pick my nose while I'm at my pc. Anyway, could anyone out there provide me with information about the current crop of webcams, what features to look for and perhaps recommend a decent one? This would be a present for my stepmother who has relatives in Europe. She would like to use the webcam to see her grandchildren and so that they can see her. She only gets to visit them maybe once a year. TIA!

Logitech with the built in mic is good and Veo, but the Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000 will probably be just what you need for what you want to use it for.

I wound up ordering the <A HREF="http://www.shopezonics.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=EZ-801" target="_new">Ezonics EZPhone Cam 2 pack.</A> I got a real good deal on these and they seem fairly idiot-proof.

Creative NX PRO.... get it at your local BEST BUY for $49.00

quality is awesome and it looks awesome also... alot of those 100$ cams all produce the same 640x480 @ 30fps... so the difference is the software bundle crapz.....

The Ezonics are pretty cool. One touch operation and it rings when you somebody's trying to reach you. It is also 640x480 and 30 fps and I picked them up for $46 a pair. Besides, I'm anti-Creative.

I've used the Logitech Pro 3000 for a few years to talk to family i havent seen in a long time and never had a problem with it. try that or the newer Pro 4000 ( http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/CA/EN,CRID=4,CONTENTID=5042 ) ebay has some for good prices
