Im on 5k Points but I'm still a regular, and the XP bar is off target compared to the ammount of points a person has...

The rankings and badges database don't get immediate updates like point totals, post counts and posts in the threads.
Forum Rank and Badges get 'batch processed' and only show up at the next database update.

Yes, you've been upgraded as WR2 says, also check your right column, there should be the Tom's mail with congrats to the new level : )
