Hello everyone,
something wierd is happening (at least for me). Since yestarday whenever I press the left ALT key plus any arrow key (or a combination of those) in Word, and another software which is linked to Word, I get different symbols (ALT+Down black smiling face, ALT+Right spades symbol, etc.).
It almost seems like the arrow keys are acting as numpad keys (I have a TKL keyboard), but that is something I deduced after hours of research, because I can't find anything related to this kind of function/behavior. Since I use those combinations a lot in the aforementioned software (it is a subtitling software) it is getting quite annoying. I still get the function they are set for, but also the symbols in the text box.
Now, I do not know if I activated something by mistake, or if somehow I changed a setting, I am quite familiar with the various windows shortcuts, but something like this never happened before.
I restarted the computer, reset the keyboard software, tried the keyboard on another computer (MacBook) and it worked fine, does all of this make sense for someone?
*Update:
Actually, also the home, end, pg up, pg dn keys act as a numeric keypad. I checked my keyboard specifications, but it doesn't have a provision to enable such function. Moreover, as said before, when connected to a macbook the keyboard works normally,
