This past friday while beta testing an online game (NDA Prohibits naming the game) I encountered a weird Blue Screen, it wasnt a BSOD it was a pale blue with somewhat darker blue vertical lines through it. I could hear the Game in the background and could make the computer respond by clicking the mouse (Sounds responed from the game) just No video other than the blue Screen. Normally anytime I have encountered a Video card Error, the computer goes with the card ie. Non responsive, shuts down. Could this have happened because of the Game being in beta, or was it the video card. Could there be any way to find out which it was? My guess would be it was the video card, at least thats what my gut keeps telling me. The GPU in question is the HD6770,

Please let me know if you need the rest of my system specs.:bounce:

then it is their program, most likely a compatibility issue with the GPU driver. Just because a company says its your PC's fault does not mean it is. I have had the run around from many companys about issues with there programs and compatibility.

If your system is 100% stable then it is their program that is at fault. a beta test is just for this reason to find the bugs.

EDIT: you can try OCCT to test your GPU. they have a tab that tests just the GPU with error checking. try and run this program (free program) with error checking enabled. do not use the PC while running the test as it will give a false positive. If it errors then it is a GPU issue in the machine. if not the the GPU is fine. let it run for 1 hour.
if it has never happened before then i would say it is the beta game you were playing and you should submit the trouble to the company for them to look into.

Now if it has happened before it is in your machine and you should track the issue down first.

Have you had this issue before? or a similar issue?

I have not had the issue before but I did submit this issue with my Bug List. They actually Replied to me saying that it sounded more like a GPU issue. So being almost of the same opinion but not 100% sure I decided to ask a few more people. During the test Temps were good across the Board, No OC's to worry about so its just confusing to me.

I will run the test when i get home. Glad to hear it may be on their end i was a little concerned about the GPU damaging other components. i havent really used it since the error just in case of other issues. The system was just built this summer so I hope there are no issues.. lol

Update: Tested the card in the current Machine Last night everything seemed Fine. Don't need it anymore though.
