Weird BOMBING noise??

just 1/2 an hour ago,,while surfing the net my (creative) speakers made an unusual explosion noise,,its strange cause i dont have weather channel desktop installed or any other app either,,and it was not coming from an internet ad,,plz can someone explain this to me?? i have never faced anything like this before!!

It could very easily be coming from a virus.

Download Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes free and run a full scan with both.

are you absolutely sure it was not from an internet ad? i've had random noises from webpages before and did not immediately see the ad in question.

if the sound starts up again without anything running then i would definitely look into the issue but until then i would say you're fine.

it doesnt hurt to do a virus scan either but i'm not going to say thats the issue.
