Weird boot up lock-up that only occurs sometimes.

So for the last several months I have been having an issue with my bootup. It will get halfway through the POST message and just freeze. Pressing the power button restarts the PC and it will either freeze again or work. I have had it happen three times back to back. This tends to happen every few days.

No other issues with any PC features.

Do you have another hard drive and/or CD-ROM to try? It may be failing on the hard drive spin up intermittently causing this long pause and "freeze". Sometimes it can take 2-3 minutes for a hard drive to fail POST.

I could try just disconnecting the DVD drive. I don't use it that often anymore. I don't have a spare HDD atm so I cant test that.
