Hi everyone,

Can't seem to figure out why my PC started making a electrical/buzzing noise since today, also can't pinpoint the exact component.
Any ideas ?

MOBO : ASRock Z790 Pro RS
CPU : i5-13600k
RAM : CORSAIR VENGEANCE 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 DRAM 5600MT/s CL36
GPU : ASUS TUF RTX 3080
HDD/SSD : 1x SAMSUNG 840 EVO 250GB SSD, 1x SAMSUNG 860 EVO 500GB SSD, 2x SAMSUN 980 PRO 2TB M.2 SSD
PSU : CORSAIR RM850x

VIDEO :
(might be quiet - sorry about that!)

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Take a sheet of A4 paper, then roll it into a cylinder. Hold one end of the tube to your ear while the other end is used to probe for the source of the noise. You should take off both side panels of your case in order to do so.

PSU : CORSAIR RM850x
How old is the PSU in your build?

One other observation, you should've looked into a dual channel, tight latency, DDR5-6000MHz ram kit as that's the sweet spot for Intel's and AMD's concurrent platform's.

PSU is about 2,5y old. Also noticed the noise persists after shutting down the PC, seems to be gone when turning the PSU off.

Thanks for the recommendation, I bought this PC when the 6000Mhz low latency DDR5 was way higher priced and the sweet spot wasnt really yet known back then. Will look into it for the next build!
