Hello, i got an 8 year old (still working as new) an asus pc with :

Intel Core 2 Quad q8300 2.5GHZ
GTX 650 1GB
4GB DDR2-800

I know, a shit pc. But it is still fine for some old games and some decent ( like cs go) . I play everyday CS:GO on it. Every game that i play is enabled with msi afterburner monitor. But now comes the question: The cpu is in every game 100 celcius. PC is 8 years old, played every day games on it for hours (6 to 12) never changed thermal paste, never cleaned out dust properly. But why is the pc still working good and not shutting down when the cpu is so hot? I mean the pc must be died whit this temps and the oldness. (I dont really care about my pc because i already got an Acer Predator gaming laptop). Reason that i ask this is i read on every forum your laptop/pc will die in 6 tot 12 months if you playing for hours and the temps are 80+ hot. No, my pc still works as a beast, even with those temps. No fps drops. Maked a screenshot of the msi afterburner. And afterburner is showing a weird temp. ( See pic)

Thanks in advance :)

It didn't died because it's probably not overheating it can work for a lot more,my Xeon is even older and i use it for everyday gaming and i even overclocked it...so my advice is to check temperature with some other software like hwmonitor or even better AIDA64 and if ti really high in those softwares than clean dust and reply thermal paste and keep using it and enjoy :)

I don't think that MSI Afterburner is displaying proper temperature for your cpu,it happend to me also with my Xeon E5440 and i had to adjust TjMax in config file so it shows proper temperature now
