Weird display problem! Plz help!!

Hi, i've been getting this weird problem, whenever i turn on my pc, the resolution is at 1024*768, even thouhg everytime i change it to the native 1280*1024 resolution. Even my game's graphics settings are changed to low sometimes. This problem is really scaring the s*** out of me! could it be my graphics card is dying? i run a xfx gtx 260 with 190.38 driver. Been having this problem for about a week. Plz help

Have you tried the 190.56 or 190.62 drivers?

No. installed the drivers long before the problem. i think i changed the wallpaper a day or two before it started, but thats irrelevant i guess.

no but i dont think its the drivers because a friend is using 8600GT on some 180 series driver and hes also getting this problem
