To start I will say that my graphics card is an EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW2. This is important because that is a NVidia card unless I am suddenly going crazy or forgetful. Meanwhile there is a popup that keeps popping up while I play games...
"AMD Install Manager: An exception occurred! Type:RuntimeException, Message:The primary document entity could not be opened. Id= [ OK ]"
Every time it pops up my games freeze up or crash outright. I play Overwatch and Payday 2 and this error randomly pops up in both games, although it happens more often during PD2 when lots of explosions or fire effects are going off.
Why would a NVidia graphics card be giving me an AMD Install Manager error while gaming? Unless it is a virus, but MalwareBytes claims my pc is clean.
I checked Computer Services and don't even see an AMD Install Manager listed there.
PC Specs:
Win 7 Home Premium SP 1
EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW2
The only possible explanation I have for this issue is that once upon a time this computer did have an AMD Radeon card but that was two NVidia replacements ago and this error just started happening when I installed this newest graphics card. Other than this random popup that happens mid-gaming sessions I haven't had any other problems with the graphics card upgrade and everything visually looks great.
Why is the error happening? Even better than just an explanation would be some assistance in preventing it from happening any more. This is incredibly frustrating and disruptive to my gaming.
