My NZXT Kraken X42’s fan won’t connect with the CAM software at all (it reads 0 RPM even though the fan is clearly spinning) also, the fan ramps up and down at random times. Thanks!

CPU: Intel i7 7700K
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z270XP SLI
Fan on radiator: stock fan plugged into the CPU_FAN header

Solution
In your AIO manual, read the following chapters and assemble your AIO as it is said and shown in there;
* POWERING THE FANS
* CONNECTING THE PUMP TACH
* CONNECTING THE SATA POWER CABLE
* CONNECTING USB CABLE

If you do all the above correctly, NZXT CAM should detect your rad fan and you can control it via NZXT CAM.

Turns out I didn't plug the fans in correctly.
