Hi,

At my office we have a problem with a folder, where suddenly appeared a folder with a tilde in its name (Ex: AC2619~1). Casually when you enter in it, it shows the content of a folder named "ACTIVITIES" that's in the same folder as the weird one. If we try to hide the the weird one it hides both folders, so basically they're the same folder.

This folder is in a shared folder that is available offline in 1 computer, and this computer is the online place where you can see the weird name folder.

we are turning crazy trying to figure out what is provoking this.

The computer uses W7PRO 64Bits, and the server where is hosted the shared folder is a W2012Server. The files where previosly in a W2000 Server. But only until the last month this never happened before.

Thanks

That is just a temporary file that gets created and is sometimes left behind if a program or computer is shut off improperly.

Every time you open a document, there is a file with a ~ created which is normally removed once the original file is closed.

Those files are also often hidden, so it maybe that someone turned on "show hidden files".
