Hi all,

So something weird happened that I was hoping you had an idea of what might have caused the issue.

My build is this:

XFX black series 750 PSU
ASUS Z87-k motherboard
I7-4790k
EVGA GTX 1070 OC
Old Kingston valueram 1333mhz
Samsung evo 840 256gb SSD
Old mechanical HD I never really use
Cooler Master 212evo air cooler
ASUS VG248QE 144hz monitor.

I recently upgraded to this CPU and at the same time OC'd it a bit using the ASUS AI suite auto tuning function which set it 4.6 ghz, (x46) 1.300 voltage with 0.250 offset.

My temperatures where never above 55c in wow (which is the only game I play), but as I read the voltage was a bit high, I manually set it to 1.250 with the same offset and toned the OC down to x44.

In games, everything was stable, though prime95 would freeze my machine and hit temperatures close to 88c, where I would shut it down as I got nervous.

Now, the other day, my computer randomly just shut down out of nowhere. When I booted it, it would boot normally, let me log in normally, but the second I came to the desktop, everything would freeze in the sense that I could click and highlight icons, but nothing would happen. Imagine I could click the little tray icon in the right side corner of windows, but nothing would open. Same with desktop icons and applications.

What i did, was open windows in safe mode and manually disable all startup apps. This worked fine when I then booted it normally. I then tried to enable them one by one, and found that when I enabled Logitech Gaming Software, the issue would come back. After I removed the application, the machine went back to normally.

However, my concern is that this was a coincidence and something else is wrong. Right now, everything is working as expected, but I am still a bit concerned.

All thought are appreciated.
