Weird glowing light at edge of screen?

Basically when I play games, the edge of my screen (top and bottom) has a weird glow or coloured lines...I don't understand why this is, i tried playing borderlands 2 and Tf2 and same result.

I'm not sure if it's my monitors fault or hardware. you can see in the attached pictures my issue. If this helps I have:

4670k
Gigabyte gtx 770
Asus z87 plus
Ax760 PSU

Hp 2007 Monitor

Sometimes it's really severe, sometimes its not even there.

Corsair ax760, I just edited back into my main post also, what do you think may be the issue?

It could be caused by the monitor backlighting bleeding through, have read a few customer reviews commenting on this. Have you checked your video connections? Can you use a different video connection (i.e. if you are currently using HDMI, can you use DVI (or something else instead)? Do you have a different monitor that you can try to see if it experiences the same problem? Do you have a different GPU you can use to see if the problem persists?

I checked my connection, it is secure. I have a hdmi(gpu) to Dvi(monitor) cable running from the gpu to my monitor. I tried using a vga cable from the motherboard to the monitor and there wasn't even a signal so I switched back tot he hdmi to dvi. I don't have another gpu to test either...I tried updating my gpu drivers and no help. This problem only happens in video games for some reason...
