Weird HDD problem

Hello Everyone,
Till yesterday everything in my PC was working fine. My brother bought an iball PSU which is marked as junk in tomshardware and wanted me to check it to see whether it works or not. When i installed the PSU, I saw a weird issue saying Boot disk failure. It exists even after I installed my old PSU. My BIOS can't even detect my HDD. I tried the drive in other PC and it got detected. Can anyone point out what is the problem? Is it the SATA cable or the power supply? I searched in google and tried many suggested solutions like changing boot priorities and all but nothing worked.

If it works in another PC, use that known good cable in yours and see if the drive is seen. Not a good idea to test a known bad quality power supply in your computer, it's like saying "I am not sure if this food is poisoned, want to taste it for me?".

I tried new sata cable and a new power cable also. But still the PC fails to detect the hdd. Even windows failed to detect my hdd when I tried to re-install the OS. I can still boot OS using a usb or external hdd. Think the hdd is really dead.
