Weird issue with Voltage

So I was attempting to squeeze a little more juice out of my 8320, I am currently running at 4.5ghz at 1.35v, in an attempt to push up to 4.7ghz I turned the voltage up to 1.4v. On restart I didn't get a post and my ASUS M5a99FX Pro R2.0 had its VGA Led lit up solid. Fooled around with it thinking I had fried my CPU but after doing a CMOS jumper reset all is back to normal. I'm curious as to what would cause my video card to stop working when I only changed the CPU voltage by .5V.

Solution
Well i don't exactly know the led thingy ,but .05 volt is 3 steps to my mobo and i believe your mobo isn't giving that stable vcore voltage...if you have any setting to increase vdropp try enabling it,it may increase performance...
other posibilities to stabilize your system is to increase the northbridge core(mch to my mobo) and your peripherals voltage too (ich core) just from 1.1 to 1.3 is more than enough
find your way for minimum possible voltages everywhere...
sometimes i get better overclocks with a decrease in voltages...
have you tried going from 4.5ghz to 4,55 and step by step without increasing further voltage? just 1.35?
