Hello, on BF1 I can't seem stay at 144FPS to save my life it falls sometimes all the way to 90FPS. I'm only trying to stay at a stable 144FPS because I plan to get a 144hz monitor soon.

I have the game with everything on low and the resolution scale on 100% at 1080p.

My specs are as follows.

i5-7600k @ 3.8 GHz

Ballistix Elite 16 GB (2 x 8) @ 3000MHz, and yes I have the XMP profile on.

EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Gaming

ASUS ROG STRIX Z270F GAMING motherboard

EVGA 700w b1+ PSU

1TB WDB HDD

Solution
Your issue is a cpu bottleneck. A 4 core/ 4thread i5 cannot keep up with 100+ fps in bf_1. You would need an i7 of the same generation for this. i7 7700k would do the job

Really? Well that's unfortunate. Would an i7-8700k be better for this than a i7-7700k? Do you think I would be able to stably hit 144fps on such games if I were to upgrade the CPU?

Edit: NVM the 8700k is not compatible with my mobo

Thanks man. I guess I have to take my Acer Predator budget and get an 7700k.
