Weird item in Services

Can anyone tell me what this process is in Windows 10? Google gave me literally nothing...

what is MessagingService_316ef?

the description says something about text messaging, which I dont do on this computer...I tried to diasable it and it says "this parameter is incorrect"

I have an HP laptop with Kaby Lake processor, 128g ssd, 1 tb hard drive, 12 g RAM

I did a Google search for "MessagingService_316ef" and got zero hits. Are you sure that message came from Windows? If so, it would seem that you're the only person who's ever gotten it or maybe you mistyped part of it.

I have a similar one (MessagingService_3a583). I just noticed it a few days ago. I'm pretty sure that my system isn't infected with anything. I ran a Malwarebytes scan earlier.

It may be a part of MSMQ. I would be careful about disabling it if you decide to go that route.

I think I'll leave mine how it is for the time being, or at least until I can investigate it more.

Whew, thank for the verification gardenman, I'm glad I'm not the only one that has this on their machine....and yes, I WAS very surprised to see NOTHING show up on Google about it, hence the question on here.....
