Question weird keyboard disconnect issue

I have a friend with a wired keyboard and it disconnects and reconnects the weird part is this only happens when someone in his house lowers a specific footrest on a chair I've never heard of such a phenomenon before any advice would be useful thanks

Is the chair plugged in to the wall? I only ask as Mum has a recliner that is powered and plugged into wall.

what are details of his PC?
If chair plugged in, your friend could try a surge protector power board for his PC as it might be interference

he is not very tech savvy as far as knowing his specs and i'll have to ask him about the plugged in part

Also might help to know if the PC is anywhere near the chair.

He should know if its plugged into the wall or not. I think it would be obvious
