Weird marks on CPU

Hello, i'm not very experienced with computers and today decided to re apply thermal paste on my CPU. I cleaned it off with rubbing alchohol and re-applied the thermal compound. I put it in and noticed it didn't fit properly. I tried to shift it around carefully to try to drop it in place. After fidiling with it, I realized it wasnt going to fit and carefully took it out of the slot and saw a little black mark on tthe bottom left of the rectangle on the CPU slot in the mobo. I thought something was wedged in there before realizing it was a bent pin. I easily fixed it and before I placed the CPU back into the slot I saw these white marks on it http://m.imgur.com/weilNop (Bottom left of rectangle) they're really faint and are unoticeable unless in proper lighting. Are these scratches from moving my processor around with the pins sticking out? Are these damaging?

i don't think they are a problem.It might even be manufactured that way.Just make sure that you match the yellow triangle.If it doesn't work again post here some pictures of the motherboard and how you put it to see what's wrong.
