Weird microphone behavior after upgrading to windows 10

I just installed windows 10 on my new pc and started playing games.After a little while, i realised that my headset's microphone wasn't working.I checked the sound settings and the device manager and found out that if i plug the headset in the audio slot in the front panel, the headset only works as an audio output device(no mic).If i plug the headset in the microphone slot in the front panel, the headset's mic works but (this is weird) the sound levels only rise if i hit the two earpieces with my hand or together and they won't record my voice. Anyone have any idea about what may be causing this? I've tried "everything" and read tons of articles but couldn't figure it out.I installed the latest drivers,updated windows,checked that HD audio was enabled in my mobo's bios but still...nothing.Please help me figure this out, i'm lost here!

Do you got your microphone/headset name or model?

And are you using any adapter between the headset and pc.

yes the main one is called "razer electra" and the other 2 i tried were just regular headphones!
