i just got a new monitor: philips 223v5 but the display is really weird. The screen is bright but adjusting the brightness or gamma doesnt take it away. Maybe I have old drivers? I downloaded the drivers from philips website but it has only 3 files in it and they are all named "223V5". And I dont know how to open them.

The monitor's ICC profile is probably corrupt, I had same issue with a Philips monitor & removing the profile fixed it.
I knew it was corrupt because Photoshop told me when I tried to set it up with that profile.
Even a freshly downloaded profile was corrupt just like the one on the Phillips CD.

Disassociate the profile in Windows colour management, then delete the ICM file itself:
C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color

i disassociated all profiles from color management and deleted all ICM files from the folder but nothing happened. I see all the colors fine only when i move my monitor like that: http://www.vuugo.com/image/cache/data/products/Vuugo-UM.HB6AA.002-3-600x600.jpg
