This has been going on for a month now and I was trying to ignore it but now I am totally pissed and I want to fix it. :D It is coming from my mobo I think, somewhere near the CPU. It isnt constant. It stops when I am not using my computer and when its under heavy load(not 100%sure). I have a corsair GS 600W psu with an asrock p67extreme4gen3 and an i5 2500k. Also I just noticed that my psu light is getting darker in tact with the sounds. I will try to upload a video in youtube and post it here.

Sounds like the bearing on a fan has failed. If you think it is coming from near the CPU, you really need to check if that is the problem.

How old are the fans in the system and how many hours per day do you run it?

Cheap fans are usually rated at about 10,000 hours (about a year) More expensive fans are rated at 50,000 hours (though fans can still fail at anytime)

It's not that pop you're talking about is it?... the other sound I hear is fan vibration... it sounds to me like a case fan that's losely fitted to the case.

In any fan, if it's speed is controlled by the BIOS, the vibration sound would increase as it revvs up higher as the CPU temp increases.

Another possibility is that the PSU may not be fixed tight enough to the case, and the fan looks large enough that it can cause the level of vibration to make the noise. Check that, and if it’s not the problem, maybe you can buy a cheap PSU to power your PC while you wait for the GS 600 replacement.
