hello guys, i just had the weirdest thing ever.
i have an MSI R7870 Hawk and in the past week or so it was overheating like crazy, to the point that it kept crashing, about 95C at 80% GPU usage and it sometimes reached 102C. i applied thermal compound twice (done it perfectly), updated the drivers software and even tried old ones, re-installed windows and i cleaned it from dust tens of times and it was still overheating. i pretty much tried every possible thing i saw in every thread here on tomshardware.
The fans are perfectly fine, +4000RPM @100% Speed.
Weird thing is: all of a sudden, without me doing anything more than that, it's now max 59C at 100% GPU usage. just like that, the problem is more than gone, my GPU temperatures have never been that low EVER.
any explanation to this?

it's really complicated.
it does happen during gaming, during any game it just overheats no matter how simple the graphics are. i play dragon age inquisition, mortal kombat x and a very old game called rise of nations. it overheats when i play any of the three but dragon age just messes it up, even on the lowest graphics settings.
the heating pattern is kind of weird too because it reaches about 80C and then just keeps heating up very gradually 1 or two degrees every second until it reaches a crashing point (only with dragon age)
now when the problem was automatically solved as i mentioned, when i turned my PC off and on again it just came back. i didn't change any single thing in settings or in whatever, and it just came back like before.
thanks for your reply :)
