Weird problem with Front panel connectors

Hi guys, could use some help here as my head is about to explode! I just recently bought this case "http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00606NA0A?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00" after setting everything up i noticed the machine would not power on, i tested things like RAM, GPU, CPU and even changed the PSU however nothing helped. I then looked at the front panel connectors, i decided to use my old case's, switch and front panel connectors as a bypass and lord be hold the machine booted into life. However! And here is the strange part...
I next decided to check whether or not it was the wire that was the problem or the switch itself. I used a volt meter to check the current on the wire, it was fine. Next i checked the power switch.... it was also fine. I have no clue what to do now! Please help guys!!!

Also Amazon is out of stock with replacements and they have no clue when they are getting them back in stock, so if possible I'd rather not wait 1000 years if i can fix this myself. Cheers!

Hi, Just to make sure, have you used an ohmmeter to check if the case button does short the 2 wires?

Hello... I would re-test booting with the new case switch and verify the connection at the MB, try switching the connector/wires polarity the other way.

UPDATE: I decided to put the reset jumper on the power pins and for some reason it's working now, although to turn my computer on i have to push the reset button

Hi, Just to make sure, have you used an ohmmeter to check if the case button does short the 2 wires?

Yeah checked all the cables just to be on the safe side. I even checked the power switch with the ohmmeter attached and every time i pushed the button i got a current.

It seems that the power button does not work.

Is there a fix for this or am i just going to have to cope with using the reset button as a power button?

I am unsure how you checked current using a volt meter?

You could use a ohm metre scale of a multimeter to check that when you press the power button ohms drop from infinite to zero

Measured from micro sockets at the end of the 2 wires which plug into the motherboard

If there is a reset switch you can use it instead of the power switch
The switch and wires are usually the same

I found one case which was not assembles correctly and a connection with multiple pins for power , reset and LEDs was in upside down

I accidentally put volt meter instead of ohmmeter sorry about that. And i believe i have found the problem. After carefully inspecting the power switch i can see that the solder is coming loose. And just like mbarnes86 has said i am using the reset switch as the power switch. I'll get some solder and resolder the power switch properly, it seems they just cheaped out on the solder when manufacturing the case. I also noticed there is a wire loose on the USB connector too, again signs of poor manufacturing. I just hope this doesn't effect my warranty! Thanks for helping me solve this guys it's been driving me crazy all night!
