Even though the installer for the newest Nvidia driver didn't work, I managed to install the newest Nvidia drivers via Device Manager (I have a GTX 480, Win 7, 32-bit). Then in 3 different games, Fallout NV, Mass Effect 2 and Assasin's Creed 2, the main characters could barely run and when they walked, they would periodically stop in their tracks, and then keep going, and stop and go, etc. I reverted back to 275.33, but I'm still having the same issue. I ran the Heaven benchmark and got FPS 49.1 and 1236 as a Score, which was actually higher than previous runs I've done.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do? I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, driver sweeper, etc. and I'm still having the same problem. I never had the problem until I tried updating.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your replies. After installing, reinstalling etc. numerous times, I did some more research and discovered that the problem was keyboard related. I switched the keybord into a different USB port, and problem solved.
