Sorry for the rushedness of this post. I'm just writing this in case anyone has a similar experience/has knowledge of it.
My mobo was flashing for a split second and then doing nothing so I followed some steps on diagnosing it. I narrowed it down to the cpu. Some time later I'm here with a working PC (unless this happens again) after meticulously and delicately putting the heatsink and fan back on my Q660. For the second time. I couldn't see any visible damage to the pins when I looked but there was a bit of scratching to the surface of the chip from contact with the pins.
So now this has me wondering, was it seated incorrectly or was the heatsink on too tight? I'm just glad I managed to recover my pc so I can go game!
