Weird Slow Loading Issue - Tried nearly everything

So, I cannot figure this out for the life of me...

Background info:
The router I am using is the Netgear Nighthawk R7000 (quite new) and I have ATT Uverse with the Motorola NVG-510 as my modem. I get ~11mbps down and ~0.9mbps up. The following issue occurs on any device-Macbook, Windows 7 desktop, Windows 8 tablet, and Android.

The issue:
I had no issues before getting my new nighthawk router. I used to use the built-in one on the modem but it was awful range and didn't have a usb port. I cannot load certain websites while other ones load fine. Sometimes they load slow or not at all. If I bypass the new router, everything loads fine-which I don't get... If I put the router into AP mode, it also works fine. Some websites with the issue include att.com, yahoo.com, instagram.com, facebook.com... The issue goes away for a short amount of time (less than 1hr) after rebooting the modem. Resetting the router has no effect.

I've already done...:

  • Reset the router to factory defaults
    Changed every IP address setting possible
    Changed DNS settings
    Disabled certain features

I'm sure I'm leaving something out so let me know if I am...

You may not be able to resolve this since the ATT device can't be set to a pure bridge mode. Just my guess that this is what's causing the problem.

When changing the DNS settings, did you change the DNS addresses on the PCs, gateway, router or all?

I'd recommend returning the Motorola to its original settings and leaving the Netgear in AP mode, unless there's a specific reason you don't want to do this.

Where are your DNS servers set to? Recently I have had issues connecting to those websites (specifically facebook.com and yahoo.com). I was using OpenDNS servers as my primary/secondary DNS. I changed to Google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) and the problem went away. Not sure what is going on at OpenDNS....

Do you have it set it the PC and other devices or only on the router? I have TWC and their DNS servers are always overloaded....I would believe AT&T have similar issues (I haven't had an ISP that was great).

Do you have parental control set on the router? It may be blocking certain sites.

I have the DNS set on both the router and computers.
The options "Parental Controls", "Block Sites", and "Block Services" are all set to Never with nothing listed...

I forgot:
I have also tried switching the LAN port on my modem
Hardwiring to the router
Opening firewall (external IP requests) on modem to router (no longer open)

I did this on my Windows 8 laptop but it changes nothing. (Tried IE, Chrome, Firefox) It just sits there trying to load.
And of coarse, I cannot speak for my macbook since it doesn't have cmd.

As the instructions said, I set to Passthrough based on routers MAC address. Currently, everything loads fine (maybe a bit slow but its better). On the other hand I never have the issue after rebooting the modem so my fingers are crossed!
I'll update if this is solution...
