Weird square shaped screen tearing

I am getting very strange screen tearing while watching videos. Local videos and also youtube/browser videos.
It's not regular horizontal tearing though. Sometimes it's random shapes. Like a square that is lagging a frame behind in the bottom left corner of the video for example.

What could be causing that?

You using a Nvidia card? If so update to the latest drivers. Version 375.76 fixed the issue but 375.95 (current) fixes issues that appeared since .76.
