Hi

Recently I found my old laptop and wanted to retrieve my old photo's. The problem is that when I opened the folder with the photo's, all of the pictures weren't normal files. The pictures became some sort of .TAIIFDK files which I cannot open with any program. I also cannot find anything on the internet. I remember though that I had a Trojan Horse Virus. Which might be the problem. Now, my question is if there's any way to revive these pictures... Should I maybe defragment the folder or something?

Thanks for any help

Solution

Try booting up with a usb drive and install some thing like ubuntu and try to remove the files from hhd.
There's also a BMP file in the folder with the information that I have to pay to decrypt the files... It says the following:

Your personal files are encrypted by CTB-Locker.
Your documents, photos, databases and other important files havbe been encrypted with strongest encryption and unique key, generated for this computer.

Private decryption key is stored on a secret Internet server and nobody can decrypt your files until you pay and obtain the private key.

If you see the main locker window, follow the instructions on the locker. Overwise, it's seems that you or your antivirus deleted the locker program. Now you have the last chance to decrypt your files.

Open http://fizxfsi3cad3kn7v.onion.cab or http://fizxfsi3cad3kn7v.tor2web.org in your browser.
They are public gates to the secret server.

If you have problems with gates, use direct connection:

1. Download Tor browser
2. In the Tor Browser open the http://fizxfsi3cad3kn7v.onion/
Note that this server is available via Tor Browser only. Retry in 1 hour if site is not reachable.

Write in the following public key in the input form on server. Avoid missprints.
*A long serial key*

Follow th einstructions on the server.

These instructions are also saved to file named Decrypt-All-Files.txt in Documents folder. You can open it and use copy-paste for adress and key.

Rip your files have gotten encrypted from a ransom ware. Its some what easy to fix. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtjYb1I9M5o
