Weird wireless connection problem

Hello,
I bought a new laptop and the old one I gave it to my parents.
And I have a weird problem with wifi connection to my parents home (on the old laptop).
Here are the facts:
- on my parents home I can see the wifi on my phone and can connect, while on the laptop it shows that red "X" mark on the wireless connection icon.
- I took the old laptop to my home for verification, and at my home I see the wifi and it connects.

What could be the problem?
