Question Weirdest issue -- no display ?

Jan 10, 2014
Hi All,

I'm having the weirdest Display issue. I have an older system I'm trying to get going.

The system I'm trying to get going is.

CPU= FX-8320
MB =ASRock 760GM-HDV (Brand New)
RAM=Corsair Vengeance LP DDR3 1600 Mhz
GPU=Gigabyte RX 590 Gaming 8 GB
PSU=Corsair 750i
HD=Samsung 7200 rpm Spinner

The issue I'm having is the computer will not display via HDMI to HDMI no matter what.

I've tried many things. Here's what.

1) I Taken the GPU out and put it into another newer Ryzen system. GPU worked fine.

2)Plugged the HDMI into the Motherboard without Graphic Card. No display.

3) Bought new Ram. Bought the Corsair replacing GSkill Ripjaws DDR3 2133 Mhz. Same thing. No display.

4)Bought a new Motherboard AND CPU. Old Board was Asus M5A78L-MPlus with a FX-8370E. No display even with the onboard Graphics.

5) with new MB I plugged a VGA monitor in with an HDMI-VGA adaptor directly into board no GPU. Display Worked. Plugged HDMI-VGA adaptor into Graphic Card and it Worked.

I'm not sure what the deal is. Computer is working right now with HDMI-VGA but I would like to use a digital signal. Anybody know what the problem could be?

I was thinking it was the older PCI-e but they are backward compatible.

Thanks in Advance
