You'll need to go back to the store and purchase the "full version"
of "Microsoft Office 2003" in order to install Microsoft Word, Excel,
Publisher, etc. Windows XP is an "Operating System" and does not
include any Microsoft Office applications.

And just how were you able to come up with enough money to
buy a computer?

You will have to buy Microsoft Office if you want the functions that it
offers.. MS Office is not part of any OS, and never has been..

Why would you have someone purchase a full version of 2003 (in which the *all* items you list are in Professional) which cost $499 retail, when they can buy an upgrade retail for $329 and then purchase Works 6.0 for $19 retail (hell, even the newsest Works version, 8.0 is only $49), and then use that as an eligible up upgrade.

This is what I did, and it works great! (except I have Office 2003 Standard)
