Question Were is my camcorder

Never had this problem under windows 7. I plug in my camcorder to the computer and I get a nice jingle to say it is plugged in. THAT IS IT. No folder in This computer. Where are my files now.

If I plug in a memory stick into a USB, I get a jingle and the device is added to my computer. Plug the camcorder into the USB, I get the jingle but no device added to my computer.

Is it recognized in Control Panel > Printers and devices ?

There is no " Printers and devices " in control panel but here is were things get stupid. On Friday I did not know how to connect my new camcorder to my PC. This was answered on Friday and it worked fine. 3 days later I plug in my camcorder and it does not work. Fine on Friday rubbish on Monday.

This was never a problem under windows 7.

I have had this problem before with a mobile phone. Plug it in and you get a stupid window popping up saying “What do you want windows to do with this device”. I believe this is were the problem lies and under one of windows annoying updates this has been set to DO NOTHING.

This might sound a bit silly but is the camera ON when you plug it in? Also try plugging in with camera off and then turn it on.
