[SOLVED] Western Digital Black SN850

Hi everyone, i have a ASUS PRIME Z370-A as a motherboard and i want to know if will i be able to get all of the benefits in terms of read/writing speed out of the Western Digital Black SN850

I want to buy it simply because im using an HDD (yes i still have a hard drive in 2021) and im done with it and the stuttering i have been bearing for the past 5 years or so......

Yes, you will never go back to an OS HDD after using it. The real benefit to the OS is the random speed compared to spinners, and it is not even close. You will immediately notice the difference.

With that being a 4.0 drive, on a 3.0 system, you won't be able to get the most out of it, at this time. You will be able to, should you upgrade, to a newer platform that supports 4.0 or higher PCI-E speeds, like AMD 500 series, or 11th and 12th gen Intel, on 500 or 600 series boards.

There will be no harm in using it. It will just run at 3.0 speeds, instead of 4.0. PCI-E is backwards compatible, like that.
