thank you geekapproved

yeah it sounds great but does it worth 25$ more?

I've heard SATA 3Gb and 6Gb are not very different

here I can buy 2T seagate around 80$

which one should I buy?

They are both sata6gb.

Personally, I only use WD Blacks. Is it worth $25 for 2.5x more warranty, well that's up to you.

Seagate (and samsung) are able to offer their drives at a lower price because they give you less warranty. After 2yrs if it dies, it's your problem, you have to buy a new one.
WD charges more, but they will warranty your drive for 5yrs. The good thing about that is say in 4yrs your WD 1TB drive dies, you send it in and likely your going to get a 2 or 3tb drive as a replacement because 1tb drives won't be made anymore.

haha, good point about getting a 2gb hdd
now I have to look for a safe way to broke my hdd after 4years :D

beside warranty, what about speed?
is WD much faster because of its cache or there is no noticeable improve in everyday use??

I personally have a set of Blacks in Raid 0 for over a year now with a max read of 250.

Sorry you were unable to set yours up correctly.

I plan to buy a SSD for boot drive and programs, so no Raid
but the question still remains
beside warranty, what about speed?
is WD much faster because of its cache or there is no noticeable improve in everyday use??

and I just heard about "density platters"
are they different in this field?

Your digging deep. They are all within a millisecond or two. Nothing you will notice.

All the new drives 500GB and up use 500GB platters. The 320GB and 640GB drives use 320GB platters, which is slower.

I don't know why your digging so deep, were talking about basic hdd here. Pick one and buy it.
