[SOLVED] Western Digital Caviar Green 3 TB 3.5 (WD30EZRX ) showing 1.4 TB space only.

Hi, I just bought a used 3 TB HDD, the seller has told me that it wasn't showing full capacity since day one when he bought it as new from amazon, I have tried several solutions including : normal format, change it to GPT & cleaning it from the Command Prompt but couldn't proceed with all of them (see pics please) .
Any other solutions?

Assuming there is no data on it, try commandline diskpart and the clean command.
If there IS data on it, move that to elsewhere and then try it.

Be absolutely sure of which drive you are accessing. Clean is a one way street.

Or, maybe the seller got a malfunctioning drive, which you now have.

boot, system, pagefile, crashdump or hibernation.

Turn off pagefile for this drive.
Turn off hibernation completely.

Try the clean again.

From your commandline image, some system operation is using that drive. Preventing the clean command.

You need to discover what it is, and turn that off.
Then do the clean again.

Did the drive come already formatted as NTFS, or did you do that?

Can you see the full capacity in CrystalDiskInfo? If not, then the drive may have a HPA. This can be removed with HDAT2, hdparm or ATAtool.

The pagefile is using D: - move it to C:
Backup anything important on the drive.
