Western Digital HD failing? Reallocation Sector/Event Count...UDMA CRC Errors...

I have a WD drive that might be failing and am posting the following to see if anyone else might have insight as to what is going on. Its a WD3500KS and I"ve highlighted the warnings.

Hi there scblair,

This "Reallocation Sector Count" means that there were bad sectors on your drive and they have been reallocated. Even though the drive may be ok for now, I believe that bad sectors will continue to appear. You should back up the data that is on the HDD as ronintexas already suggested. You can still use the drive, though you should do regular back ups and keep an eye on the bad sectors count.

Thanks both. This drive is only for programs and OS. I keep personal data on a completely separate drive in case of this happening. Guess I get to go SSD shopping!
