Depends on how it is dead. If it is having trouble spinning up and failing, the freezer trick may buy you some time to grab data. If it just won't show up in BIOS, the board may be bad, your best option is to look for another WD hard drive that uses the same firmware and swap the board.

If the drive shows up in BIOS but you can't access it and freezer trick doesn't work, you may need to consider hard drive recovery service. They aren't cheap unfortunately.
